The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all production machinery, mechanical systems, and facility equipment are maintained in optimal working condition. This role supports production uptime through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLC-controlled equipment. The position also involves fabricating and installing replacement parts, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Job Details

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production, facility, and electrical equipment using hand tools, power tools, and technical expertise.
Interpret and execute work from blueprints, schematics, drawings, and verbal instructions with close tolerances.
Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), complete work orders, and support equipment reliability initiatives.
Diagnose equipment failures, determine repair scope, and rebuild, refit, or replace components as needed.
Fabricate basic machine and equipment parts to support maintenance and minimize downtime.
Maintain inventory by identifying and reordering parts, tools, and supplies as necessary.
Perform general facility maintenance, including basic carpentry, finishing, and minor masonry work.
Communicate equipment issues, material shortages, and process concerns to supervisors or appropriate personnel.
Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including PPE requirements and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including tools and designated work areas.
Train and support new team members as directed.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Technical Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred (or equivalent hands-on competency).
Minimum of 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, service manuals, and maintenance documentation.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and electronic controls.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming highly preferred.
Familiarity with HVAC systems, motors (single and three-phase), and industrial equipment.
Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools (e.g., tape measure).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); CMMS or E-Maintenance experience is a plus.
Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing demands.
Capable of training and mentoring team members.
