    Description

    STS Group is a globally leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries headquartered in France. The Adler Pelzer Group, a global Tier 1 supplier recently acquired STS group to expand its target market. STS is pioneering operations of Class A surface components for the heavy trucks in the USA.

    We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the opening of the brand-new STS facility near Salem, Virginia in the Roanoke, VA area.

    The Maintenance Technician participates in activities concerned with the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in manufacturing so that throughput, inventory, and operating expense objectives are achieved. Inspects and repairs machinery and equipment based on operating parameters, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician

    • Analyzes mechanical, electrical, and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action to maintain maximum production and quality. • Reads and comprehends Electrical schematics. • Tests newly installed or refurbished equipment to ensure fulfillment to specification and safety. • Immediately responds to maintenance issues when production has stopped due to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic problems. • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce downtime. • Maintains and monitors inventory of maintenance equipment and parts. Orders new parts as necessary. • Installs and maintains program modifications for all machines. • Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager for the installation and removal of equipment. • Completes purchase order requisitions for all purchased goods, equipment, or services.

    Work Schedule

    Will be required to work necessary overtime and have shift flexibility. Shift: 11:00pm to 7:30am.

    Note: This section is not inclusive. Other duties are assigned as necessary to support team goals.

    Required Skills and Experience

    Education can be substituted with equivalent experience. Licenses & Certifications are preferred but not required.
