Industrial Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a strong Industrial Maintenance Technician for a full-time Contract-to-Hire opportunity in Akron, OH. If you have solid mechanical maintenance experience and enjoy keeping industrial equipment running, we want to talk with you.

You’ll join a manufacturing environment supporting an 8-acre facility with 200+ machines. This role focuses on hands-on maintenance and repair work including pipe fitting, welding, preventative maintenance, pumps, motors, hydraulics, hose fabrication, and general equipment upkeep.

Hours
  • 1st Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Monday through Friday

Pay
  • $20 - $25/hr based on experience (hourly)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on processing equipment including motors, pumps, hydraulic systems, and industrial equipment
  • Conduct pipe fitting/threading, welding, hose fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM)
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment across a large industrial campus
  • Collaborate with the internal maintenance team and assist third-party vendors when required
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Minimum Requirements
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience in a chemical processing/plastics/rubber or food manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (motors, pumps, hydraulics, equipment repair)
  • Ability to weld and perform pipe threading
  • Experience with preventative maintenance
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented

Nice to Have Skills
  • Background in food manufacturing or chemical processing industries
  • Experience maintaining motors, pumps, hydraulics, and processing equipment in an industrial setting

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience in industrial maintenance within food manufacturing, chemical processing, plastics, rubber, or similar environments

Other Requirements
  • Eligible for monthly bonus and year-end point system bonus
  • Temp-to-hire pay: Start at $20, with a bump to $26 once fully trained and independent
  • Direct hire option:$26 - $30 for someone with a really strong skill set
