    Description

Shape the future of vision care—one machine at a time

Picture your day: you walk the production floor before the first batch rolls, confirm calibrations, scan the Megamations dashboard for upcoming PMs, and jump in to fine‑tune an automated line so our customers get the eyewear they love on time. That’s the rhythm of an Industrial Maintenance Technician in our manufacturing environment.

We are a global leader in designing, making, and distributing ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses. From Essilor’s Varilux, Crizal, Eyezen, Stellest and Transitions to icons like Ray‑Ban, Oakley, Persol, and Oliver Peoples—and through retail brands such as Sunglass Hut, LensCrafters, and Target Optical—we bring high‑quality vision care to consumers in more than 150 countries. Our advanced, centralized frame supply chain and expansive prescription lab network keep products close to customers, while technology and innovation fuel continuous improvement for our 200,000+ colleagues worldwide. Follow us on LinkedIn to learn more.

    What you’ll do

    • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance to keep production on track; rapidly troubleshoot and repair equipment issues to protect manufacturing timelines.
    • Handle facility upkeep across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and basic PLC tasks as needed.
    • Disassemble, clean, and rebuild machinery—both mechanically and electrically.
    • Perform minor electronic repairs, calibrations, and alignments; ensure daily set‑ups and calibrations are accurate.
    • Enter, review, and interpret maintenance data; track PMs, work orders, and tool activity in Megamations.
    • Partner with the maintenance team leader to train manufacturing and maintenance associates.
    • Support our Total Quality Facilitator by helping implement process improvements.
    • Model reliability—on time for shifts, breaks, and lunches—and uphold company policies.
    • Champion safety (including Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out), monitor compliance, and act quickly on any hazards.
    • Tackle special projects and additional duties as assigned.

    What you bring

    • High school diploma or GED plus at least 1 year of related experience.
    • Background in highly automated, lean/continuous‑flow manufacturing.
    • Proven skill reading electrical schematics and using multimeters and equipment manuals to troubleshoot.
    • Comfort resolving issues remotely with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
    • Basic PC proficiency and solid math skills.
    • Strict adherence to safety procedures, including Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out.
    • Physical ability to lift 50–100 lbs., stand or walk continuously, and frequently lift from waist, shoulder, and overhead.

    Preferred

    • Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
    • 3+ years of related maintenance experience.
