Summary:
The IndustrialMaintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots equipment issues, and completes repairs to keep all machinery operating safely and efficiently. The role maintains accurate records, follows Lockout/Tagout procedures, supports facility upkeep, and uses technical prints and precision tools to perform high quality maintenance work.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Perform Preventive Maintenance — Completes all scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability.
- Maintain Accurate Records — Keeps detailed, up‑to‑date documentation of all maintenance work performed.
- Support Operational Readiness — Work required hours to keep equipment operational at all times, including during unexpected breakdowns.
- Maintain Facility & Grounds — Keeps work areas neat, clean, and safe; supports upkeep of the building exterior, property, and periodic snow removal as weather requires.
- Train Department Personnel — Acts as a capable trainer, instructing team members on proper equipment use, care, and maintenance with minimal conflict.
- Manage Inventory — Maintains an inventory of supplies and materials and ensures replacements are requisitioned, including during supervisor absences.
- Read and Interpret Technical Prints — Reads, understands, and uses mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other technical drawings required for maintenance work.
- Use Precision Measuring Tools — Accurately uses tape measures, calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges, meters, and other measurement devices.
- Operate Maintenance Equipment — Safely operates maintenance machinery such as lathes and drill presses; performs gas welding, brazing, soldering, and electric welding.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout Procedures — Demonstrates full familiarity with LOTO procedures and follows all guidelines without exception.
- Complete Required Documentation — Maintains accurate records, completes all required forms, and uses all applicable gauges and measurement tools correctly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); AND two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the folding carton industry.
- Must have manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and verbal instructions in English for Safety, ISO, and work related tasks.
- Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
