Industrial Maintenance Technician - Des Moines, IA

This is a full-time hourly position at our soybean bean processing plant

Sign-on bonus: $1,500

Pay Rate: $27.76/hour

Shift: Typical schedule will be Monday thru Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm. On-Call and Overtime work will also be required.

Job Summary:

Maintenance technicians will perform inspections and mechanical repairs to process equipment with an emphasis on Precision Maintenance and Reliability. They will be able to troubleshoot and use diagnostic testing to detect, prevent, and repair equipment failures.

Qualified candidates will have a 2-year Technical Degree in a maintenance related field, and/or applicable industrial maintenance experience with conveying systems, pumps, compressors, and high-speed rotating equipment. Qualifying degrees could include curriculum such as Auto Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, or Mechatronics.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Applicant will promote the ADM way and Core Values
  • Attendance and punctuality is required
  • Applicant must be able to work in all types of weather including extreme temperatures, dusty, and noisy environments with the use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. walk long distances, climb ladders and stairs, work on their feet, bend, and kneel most of the shift
  • Must be able to perform work at high elevations within the plant environment
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, such as tanks, boilers, and process vessels
  • Applicant must be able to work in a 'team', as well as have the ability to work independently in an organized safe manner with minimal supervision
  • Must be capable of using millwright hand and power tools
  • Experience with and use of technical measuring tools in the millwright trade is desired
  • Willingness to participate in training to continue developing skills is required
  • Ensures that all safety and GMP rules are being followed while work is being performed
  • Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
  • Other similar duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be able to establish expectations for safety, reliability, quality, service and productivity
  • Good decision-making ability and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Products and Computerized Maintenance Management Software
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be customer focused and be proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization & planning, partnering, and utilizing a proactive approach to reliability

Education/Training:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED or apprentice training
  • Associate''s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation related field is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment
  • Strongly demonstrated expertise in either mechanical or Industrial maintenance

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

The pay for this position is expected to be:
