Country View Family Farms is seeking an experienced full-time Feed Mill Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the equipment and systems that keep our feed mill operating safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has a well-rounded maintenance background with experience in industrial, manufacturing, agricultural, or production environments. This individual should be comfortable working on mechanical and electrical systems while utilizing strong troubleshooting skills to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency.

Experience with industrial maintenance, feed mill maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, welding, electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and preventative maintenance is highly valued.

Shift: 2nd shift, 2-10:30 p.m.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on feed mill equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and repair conveyors, bucket elevators, augers, mixers, hammer mills, pellet mills, grain handling equipment, motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, and drive systems.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment, including motors, sensors, relays, motor controls, VFDs, and electrical panels.
  • Assist with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding for equipment repairs and light fabrication projects.
  • Fabricate or modify equipment components, supports, guards, and brackets as needed.
  • Install new equipment and assist with equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
  • Complete routine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain maintenance records and communicate equipment concerns with operations personnel.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, biosecurity protocols, and food safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in after-hours or emergency maintenance when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, agricultural maintenance, feed mill operations, grain handling, food production, or a similar production environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, automated equipment, and industrial control systems.
  • Experience with motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, VFDs, and material handling equipment.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, prioritize repairs, and work independently.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, and power tools.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, technical school, trade school, or vocational training is preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Candidates with demonstrated industrial maintenance experience are encouraged to apply regardless of formal education.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, catwalks, and work at varying heights.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and work in confined spaces as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a feed manufacturing environment that may include dust, noise, changing temperatures, and agricultural materials while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
