Operations include water treatment, high-voltage switchgear monitoring, fuel oil system operation, and steam system management, with the facility running year-round under annual renewal contracts.
Opportunity Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Chemours Steam Facility in Penns Grove, New Jersey. This position performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems supporting continuous steam generation and distribution. Using strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills, the technician helps maintain equipment reliability, plant availability, and safe, efficient operations.
Your scope of responsibility as Industrial Maintenance Technician includes the following primary functions:

Working Relationships
The Industrial Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and works closely with plant management, contractors, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and technical support.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include standing and walking for extended periods of time; climbing stairs, ladders, and elevated structures; working from platforms and walkways at varying heights; kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching; performing work in confined or difficult-to-access areas; and routinely lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
Work is performed in an industrial steam plant environment and may require exposure to rotating equipment, pressurized systems, hot surfaces, steam, chemicals, noise, vibration, and varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
Required personal protective equipment (PPE) may include hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), fall protection equipment, respirators, chemical-resistant clothing, and other protective equipment as required by job duties and site safety procedures. Respirator medical evaluations and fit testing may be required. Compliance with all facility safety policies, including smoking restrictions, is required.
Fitness for Duty
All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
The Industrial Maintenance Technician works a Monday through Friday day-shift schedule. Based on operational needs, rotating day or night shift coverage may be required, along with occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and callouts. Participation in an on-call rotation is also required.
Compensation
This position offers a base pay rate ranging from $39.78 to $46.15 per hour, along with an annual performance bonus.
