Industrial Maintenance Technician

Sparrow Company is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join an established manufacturing organization in El Paso, TX. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing machinery and facility equipment, with a strong focus on electrical and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to minimizing equipment downtime, and the ability to work effectively with manufacturing and maintenance teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Perform routine electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics and technical documentation
• Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Maintain and repair equipment to support reliable and efficient manufacturing operations
• Respond promptly to maintenance work orders from the manufacturing team
• Complete repairs efficiently while minimizing equipment downtime
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment issues
• Troubleshoot and work with electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V
• Maintain and troubleshoot compressors, cooling towers, HVAC equipment, chillers, thermulators, and material conveying systems
• Work safely at elevated heights, including ladders, booms, and platforms
• Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance personnel to identify equipment issues and develop effective solutions
• Provide professional and responsive service to internal customers and manufacturing personnel
• Follow established safety procedures and maintenance practices
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Electrical maintenance experience required
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience working with electrical voltages ranging from 24V to 480V
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), AC and DC drives, and stepper motors
• Knowledge of compressors, cooling towers, HVAC equipment, chillers, thermulators, and material conveying systems
• Ability to safely work at heights, including ladders, booms, and platforms
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability and willingness to work any available shift, including 10- or 12-hour day or night shifts
• Willingness to work overtime as required
• Experience in wire and cable manufacturing is a plus, particularly with extruders, rod mills, multi-wire machines, bunchers, compounders, or similar equipment
