Industrial Maintenance Technician - Electrical & Mechanical

Schedule: Monday-Friday; overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed

About the Position

The Diez Group Kansas City specializes in steel and aluminum coil blanking for automotive stamping. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production equipment and facility systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose PLCs, VFDs, motors, controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Repair and maintain bearings, belts, chains, pumps, and drives.
• Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Perform electrical and mechanical inspections and adjustments.
• Maintain facility systems, including electrical, lighting, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Complete and document preventive maintenance and repairs in CMMS.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and all safety procedures.
• Identify equipment issues and support continuous improvement.
• Follow ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent military training.
• 2-3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLCs and VFDs.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Lockout/Tagout experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• HVAC, steel, or aluminum manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Powered industrial equipment certification is a plus.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Dependable, safety-focused, self-motivated, and team-oriented.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Heavy industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to steel/aluminum processing equipment. PPE is required on the plant floor. Position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working around industrial machinery. Ability to lift and move materials weighing more than 50 pounds as needed.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday. Overtime, weekends, and extended hours may be required based on business needs.

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct supervisory responsibilities.
