Nucor Building Systems South Carolina is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician in Swansea, SC. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex plant machinery and electrical infrastructure to support steel building manufacturing operations. Candidates must possess two years of industrial maintenance experience, along with the ability to secure crane and forklift certifications.

Job Responsibilities
Key Job Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation & Maintenance: Install new machinery, construct conduit and wiring runs according to NEC standards, perform preventative maintenance, and execute complex teardowns/reassemblies on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Electrical & Automation Diagnostics: Utilize multimeters, inspect plant electrical panels/disconnects, and troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, automation controls, and electrical switchgear.
- System Repairs & Logistics: Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical motor systems, operate material handling devices, and track stock supplies to report inventory needs.
- Safety & Operations: Adhere strictly to plant safety standards, follow prints/sketches/drawings, and report faulty equipment or unusual conditions to leadership.

Qualifications
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience & Certifications: Minimum of two years of industrial maintenance experience, with the capability to achieve required forklift and crane certifications.
- Electrical Expertise: Proficiency using multimeters and familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, electrical switchgear, motor operations, automation repair, and NEC-compliant wiring/conduit installation.
- Mechanical Systems: Ability to efficiently diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic energy systems from prints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
- Safety Commitment: Demonstrated capability to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
