Job Responsibilities

The Industrial Maintenance Technology Instructor will provide instruction for Industrial Maintenance Technology courses. Aiken Technical College faculty provide instruction and academic advisement. Class schedules will vary from semester to semester. Classes may meet in evenings, weekends, or online. Faculty may be asked to work a split schedule (morning and evening classes) as well as teach dual enrollment courses in assigned high schools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach courses as assigned in accordance with established syllabi.

  • Prepare, review and maintain courses and programs, syllabi, and instructional materials.

  • Demonstrate appropriate course and classroom management.

  • Provides academic guidance, assists students in developing personal, academic and professional plans, and engages in the College's program recruitment, student retention, and graduation efforts.

  • Participate in College activities and projects and promote the College through community service.

  • Participate in activities that will develop the individual's teaching performance, instructional development, knowledge of subject matter, and/or teaching or subject area qualifications in keeping with the College's mission and institutional goals.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an Associate's Degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline are required. Qualifying fields may include, but are not limited to, Industrial Electrical Technology, Automation Technology, Fluid Power Technology, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Systems Technology. Related work experience must demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in industrial maintenance principles and practices, including electrical systems, electronics, motors and controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), piping, hydraulics, pneumatics, drive systems, mechanical installation procedures, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or a closely related technical field, and four (4) years of directly related industrial experience preferred.
