Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree for the teaching of non-transferrable courses (Developmental Courses) and/or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in subject area. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to successfully maintain a teaching load involving courses such as AC-DC Fundamentals, Wiring Fundamentals, Programable Logic Controllers, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and Instrumentation and Control. Experience in the Commercial, Industrial, or Manufacturing fields. Experience in teaching or training adult populations. The successful candidate will possess competence and experience to develop, revise, and assess the curriculum to ensure that students are acquiring current knowledge, including familiarity with technology used in classroom settings. Candidates must have capability and flexibility to teach in the evening and/or online classes with labs that meet in-person during the day. A shared vision for preparing students for their professional programs and an ability and willingness to use novel teaching techniques and technology to engage today’s learner is essential. Candidates for this position must possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a commitment to high academic standards, a dedication to student success, and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the above:

 

Knowledge of maintenance and repair associated with bearings, shafts, chains, valves, pumps, compressors, and mechanical drives.

Knowledge of maintenance and repair associated with centrifugal compressors, blowers, and turbines.

Knowledge and understanding of rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Knowledge and understanding of adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Knowledge and understanding of operating milling machines, drill presses. Grinders, etc in installation and repair machinery and equipment.

Knowledge and understanding of use and interpretation of schematics and blueprints related to construction and equipment.

Knowledge and understanding of use of industry standard cutting welding skills, use of torch, stick welding, and wire welding.

Knowledge and understanding of lock out/tag out and other OSHA safety-related curriculum.

Knowledge and understanding of moving machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, and rollers.

Knowledge and understanding of safety and housekeeping for a safe training environment.

Knowledge and understanding of electronics and digital devices, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and related devices such as Allen-Bradley, instrumentation and controls, industrial motor controls, and hydraulics and pneumatics.

Knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Knowledge and understanding of Labvolt and Automation Studio software.

Experience in industrial, construction or other technical trades, such as Millwright, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Electrician, manufacturing field, Instrumentation Technician, general construction or in project management.
