PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quickly responds to service requests, production line calls, and internal customer needs.
  • Maintains production areas and ensures all inside and outside areas are free from debris and other hazards, providing a safe and clean working environment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities on all plant equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
  • Implements and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production and maintenance reports.
  • Performs routine maintenance and facility upgrades including electrical, lighting, plumbing, air compressors, and some HVAC equipment.
  • Identifies reported and non-reported facility and production equipment issues; schedules and performs corrective actions as needed.
  • Implements new ideas geared at reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
  • Trains production workers in areas of equipment operation and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Places supply orders as needed.
  • Enforces Company safety policies to prevent employee accidents and injuries.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree in an applicable field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Basic measuring capabilities using tape measures and digital calipers
  • Experience with mechanical equipment repair is preferred
  • Experience with electrical maintenance repair including low and high-voltage equipment is preferred
  • Welding experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of common power and hand tools is required
  • Metal fabrication skills to repair, modify, and build fixtures and equipment are a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work an altered schedule as needed, to accommodate business needs
  • Basic Math skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to withstand periods sitting at a desk as needed
  • Occasional use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer
  • Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds
  • Ability to frequently carry objects weighing up to and including 25 pounds
  • Ability to push and/or pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds
