Nucor Advantage Metals Recycling is seeking an Industrial Mechanic in Kansas City, KS to maintain industrial production machinery while serving as a backup stationary and mobile equipment operator. The primary role requires maintaining and repairing equipment in an industrial setting while adhering to strict safety policies. The top requirements are at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, a proven mechanical skillset with basic welding experience, and the ability to operate mobile equipment in varying work conditions.

Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, stick welding, torch cutting, and repairs on production machinery and equipment using hand tools.
- Equipment Operation: Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, mobile shears, and material handlers, and step in as a backup stationary/mobile equipment operator as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all company and OSHA safety standards, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain clean, safe work areas.

Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Experience & Skills: Minimum of 1 year working in a manufacturing/industrial outdoor environment, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, and basic stick welding experience.
- Equipment & Team Operations: Proven ability to operate mobile equipment under varying work conditions and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Reliability & Safety Mindset: Exceptional commitment to safety standards at all times, consistent attendance, and flexibility to work Monday–Friday (6:00 AM–4:30 PM) and
- Saturday (6:00 AM–12:00 PM) plus overtime as needed.
- Preferred (but not required): Bilingual in English and Spanish.
