A day in the life

You arrive at the mill, gear up with hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and metatarsal boots, and review the day’s priorities. A conveyor needs an inspection, a hydraulic circuit is showing pressure drift, and an overhead crane requires preventive service. With standard and specialized tools—and support from pendant and overhead cranes and forklifts—you keep systems online so production never stops.

What you’ll do

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical assets across the plant—hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems; conveyors; cranes; and mobile equipment.
  • Jump in to support operating teams when needed to maintain continuous operations.
  • Work at heights or in confined spaces when required.
  • Tackle assignments independently with minimal supervision or collaborate closely with fellow maintenance technicians.
  • Navigate changing environments across the facility—hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy conditions are part of the work.

What you bring

  • At least 1 year of manufacturing or industrial experience (including relevant military experience) or equivalent education in areas such as hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission, welding, pipefitting, structural repair, or diesel mechanics.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work 8-hour rotating shifts that include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Uncompromising commitment to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and self-direction.
  • Ability to pass required assessment test(s).
