Industrial Multicraft Maintenance Mechanic

A day in this role

From first light, you’re the go-to problem solver for our production floor and facilities. One moment you’re diagnosing a finicky conveyor drive with a VFD and PLC interface; the next, you’re aligning a new pump assembly or bringing a furnace and exhaust system back to peak performance. You’ll rig, move, erect, and align machinery, make the necessary hook-ups, and leave each asset in proper operating condition. Preventive maintenance is core to your day—teardowns, reassembly, critical adjustments, lubrication, and calibration—so the equipment you touch runs reliably and safely.

What you’ll handle

• Apply multiple trades (mechanical, electrical, welding, pipefitting, and machining) to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move, and maintain production equipment, facilities equipment, buildings, and systems.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems: motors, pumps, piping networks, conveyor systems, furnaces, exhaust and ventilation, chillers, boilers, extruders, chemical tanks, production machinery, and instrumentation.
• Install new machinery and relocate existing assets to support layout changes and process improvements.
• Perform rigging, moving, erecting, aligning, and completing hookups to return assets to service-ready condition.
• Execute preventive maintenance, including extensive disassembly, reassembly, precision adjustment, lubrication, and equipment calibration.

Knowledge and strengths

• Strong working knowledge across electronics, electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, machining, and core mechanical principles.
• Clear written and verbal communication, solid computer skills, and the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks with close attention to detail.
• Preferred: prior experience in an industrial fluid application facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of journeyman-level experience in general production maintenance using mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, and machining skills to install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move, and maintain a wide range of production and facilities equipment, buildings, and systems.
• Provide your own hand tools and toolbox.
• Valid Forklift Operator’s license or ability to complete the required training.
• Preferred certifications in electronics, electrical, HVAC, machining, and/or mechanical disciplines.
