Industrial Multicraft Maintenance Specialist

Location: Sedalia, MO (Gardner Denver – 305 N State Fair Blvd., Sedalia, MO 65301)

Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

About Gardner Denver – Industrial Technology and Services (Ingersoll Rand)

We transform raw materials into world‑class blowers and compressors for industrial, commercial, and government customers. Our engineers design to exacting standards, and our manufacturing team brings those designs to life with precision and pride—powering critical applications across the globe.

A day in the life

You’ll be the go‑to problem solver who keeps our plant running safely and smoothly. One moment you’re diagnosing a Fanuc drive to the component level, the next you’re restoring a 480VAC three‑phase system, updating work orders with clear histories, and partnering with production to minimize downtime. You’ll also maintain life‑safety systems (alarms and fire protection), jump on emergency repairs, and proactively prevent repeat failures through solid root‑cause analysis.

What you’ll do

  • Execute major mechanical, electrical, and construction repairs or installs while interpreting schematics/blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot drive and control issues down to component level on Fanuc, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and similar controllers.
  • Identify root causes of failures and recommend preventive/corrective actions; document thoroughly in the work order system.
  • Communicate equipment status consistently with internal customers; make sound day‑to‑day decisions to sustain uptime.
  • Coordinate with outside service providers; support equipment and controls repair/installation; demonstrate cross‑trade handyman capabilities.
  • Create sketches for mechanical/electrical alterations and construction layouts; develop bills of material and initiate purchase requisitions.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machinery; electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Reassemble equipment post‑repair; inspect/test damaged components; mark defects and advise supervisors on required work.
  • Perform lubrication and application of adhesives/other materials per procedures.
  • Collaborate with peers to repair or relocate machines, assemblies, or parts; use hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks, and hand trucks to move materials from light to heavy.
  • Diagnose and repair high‑voltage systems up to 480VAC, 3‑phase.
  • Replace/repair linings or panels (metal, wood, leather, glass, and other materials) for machines or equipment compartments.

Minimum experience

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Core capabilities

  • Skilled in troubleshooting/repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and CNC machines/controls.
  • Comfortable working from concepts when detailed prints/drawings/specs are unavailable.
  • Maintain technical documentation for equipment and processes.
  • Service mechanical machine tools: lathes, grinders, mills, drills, machining centers, and similar equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong teamwork and communication.
  • Physical ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours; lift 35 lbs. solo or 70 lbs. with assistance; push/pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Vision 20/35 or better (with correction if needed).

Preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of CNC machine maintenance experience.

Work arrangement

Based on‑site in Sedalia, MO; no travel anticipated.
