    Information on the division:

    Located in Strongsville, the 110+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.

    As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.

    With a strong focus on latest technology of manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

    Summary:

    The Painter prepares and spray-paints parts or assemblies such as: landing gear, hydraulic cylinders, detail parts, etc. The painter also prepares various parts by performing identification and broaching operations on parts to be painted or in preparation for delivery.

    Main responsibilities:

    • Carries out a visual inspection of the part to be painted and ensures it is properly cleaned
    • Adjusts pistols, prepares required mixtures according to the prescribed standards, cleans parts
    • Performs occasional masking and demasking operations
    • Prepares mixtures of transparent sealant (CLEAR) and those required for operations of cosmetic painting (retouching), and performs their application using the equipment provided, whether manual or mechanical (brush, 'air brush', HVLP, etc.)
    • Paints small (~2 foot) to large (~12 foot) titanium and steel parts using an HVLP gravity fed spray gun
    • Document & maintain traceability in accordance with all quality standards, such as AS9100 and NADCAP.

    Our ideal candidate:

    • High school diploma
    • Aerospace experience a bonus, but not required
    • 2+ years’ experience working in a paint shop with manual air-guns
    • Good sense of judgment and capacity to evaluate problems
