Location: Houston, TexasReports to: Houston Maintenance SupervisorCollaborates with: Production, Accounting, Sales, Shipping, VendorsPrimary Responsibility: The Industrial Plant Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in all areas of the industrial facility, including production floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and exterior grounds. This role ensures that cleaning standards comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, helping to support overall plant operations and employee well-being. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of production areas and common areas.Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors; clean and disinfect surfaces.Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed.Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and pressure washers.Monitor cleaning supply inventory and report needs to supervisor.Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.Respond to cleaning and maintenance requests promptly and professionally.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Support plant operations by maintaining cleanliness in compliance with OSHA and company standards. Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent.Prior janitorial, housekeeping, or custodial experience in an industrial or commercial setting.Ability to work independently and follow verbal or written instructions.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.Familiarity with basic cleaning equipment and chemical handling procedures.Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial plant environments.Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA standards. Physical Demands/Abilities:Ability to lift 60 pounds.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work at heights.Comfortable working in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, noise, and exposure to industrial equipment.Availability to work occasional overtime, nights, or weekends as needed. Working Conditions:Manufacturing production environment.Automated/manual production machinery.Periods of high ambient temperatures and excessive noise. Education Requirements:High school diploma or GED required.
