Day in the Role

Based in Louisville, KY, you will be the go-to partner who keeps industrial projects moving by getting the right materials and services in place at the right time. Your day starts with reviewing project schedules and drawings, checking that what’s on the blueprint aligns with the bill of materials, then turning those insights into smart purchasing decisions. You’ll coordinate closely with project managers and engineers, negotiate with suppliers, and keep a pulse on inventory and market trends to avoid delays and control costs.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end procurement cycle for industrial projects: sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, confirming drawings match the bill of materials before orders are placed.
  • Collaborate daily with project management and engineering to align purchasing with project requirements and timelines.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and nurture vendor relationships to ensure reliability and quality.
  • Track inventory levels and forecast needs to prevent shortages and project slowdowns.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation.
  • Monitor industry trends and market conditions to inform buying strategies.
  • Support budget goals by identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing procurement processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven negotiation abilities and a knack for building productive supplier relationships.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing software. Computer literacy is required.
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
