Job Description

1.0SUMMARY

The Material Control Clerk coordinates the delivery accuracy and on-time material delivery shipments that supports field service, LTSA, operations and parts. Additionally, supports the overall material group as it pertains to purchasing processes and logistic operations.

2.0ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expedite, defer, and/or cancel, material based on order requirements and coordinate with Global Sourcing Specialist to verify accuracy and timeliness;
  • Coordinates the expediting activities for customer service and production related supplies;
  • Provides support to Global Sourcing Specialist pertaining to record retention, purchasing documentation, requisition logging and any other purchasing activity needed.
  • Provide material pricing and availability to requisitioners and manufacturing;
  • Generate order status queries and system updates (open orders, past due orders) with accurate dates and material lead times;
  • Develop delivery status, lead-time reports, and supplier performance information for communication to suppliers and for future negotiation leverage.
  • Continuous process improvements and value added flow management (i.e. automated purchase order generation for redundant purchases);
  • Place purchase orders for MRO product with approved suppliers upon receipt of properly approved requisitions;
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

  • Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or equivalent; and at least two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database, etc.
