Build what protects our world

CECO Environmental and its Kemco Systems brand design and deliver solutions that help customers conserve water, reduce emissions, and extend equipment life. We’re seeking a seasoned sheet metal fitter/welder to turn prints into high-performing components that support a safer, cleaner future.

Why this role stands out

  • Hands-on fabrication across cutting, forming, fit-up, welding, and assembly.
  • End-to-end ownership—set up the press brake, roll plate from 20 ga to 1/4", shear to minimize scrap, and finish to exacting tolerances.
  • Perform MIG welding on stainless and carbon steel from 20 ga up to 3/8" plate.
  • Form specialty parts: pressed elbows, gorelocked elbows, collars, sleeves, tee branches, reducers, and more.
  • Enter and work within tanks via an 18" round manway; frequent climbs in/out using ladders and similar access equipment. Candidates must be comfortable in confined spaces (no claustrophobia).

Core responsibilities

  • Read/interpret blueprints and assembly documentation.
  • Apply shop math (fractions/decimals) and use precision measuring/layout tools including tape measures, levels, and squares.
  • Operate hydraulic press brake and plate rolls; operate shear with optimal cut planning.
  • Inspect, assemble, smooth seams/joints, and complete repairs as needed.
  • Perform other assigned tasks supporting production goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Trade/Technical School preferred.
  • 5+ years in sheet metal fabrication (20 ga to 3/8" thickness).
  • Mechanical aptitude; punctual, self-motivated, and dependable.
  • Comfortable working independently and within a diverse, collaborative team.
  • Proficient in reading prints/procedures; experienced with standard measuring tools.

Preferred

  • Graduate of a welding school (e.g., PTECH).
  • Welding certifications.
