At Arctic Snow and Ice, we craft equipment that thrives in the harshest conditions. As our Industrial Tooling & Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you’ll architect the workflows, fixtures, and weld processes that turn ideas into rugged, reliable products—efficiently and at scale.
Your Mission
Elevate production by designing world-class processes, implementing the right equipment, and proving capability with data. You’ll be the connective tissue across R&D, Quality, Production, and external operations to ensure every part meets spec, every time.
Impact Areas
Process Architecture: Engineer and launch manufacturing processes and equipment for cost-effective, high-quality output. Program plasma, laser, and press brake equipment to deliver exacting tolerances.
Tooling & Fixturing: Design fixtures and tooling in SolidWorks to drive repeatability, ergonomics, and safety.
Welding Excellence: Own manual MIG and robotic welding—design, implement, and optimize. Develop and maintain WPS and PQRs; ensure adherence to AWS/ASME.
Reliability & Quality: Lead root-cause analysis for weld defects and equipment failures; implement durable corrective and preventive actions. Oversee quality for inbound materials and outbound products.
Continuous Improvement: Conduct time-and-motion studies, identify cost reductions, and streamline flow without compromising quality.
Project Leadership: Define scope, initiate, and manage all project phases; collaborate with Project Managers for resource planning and progress tracking. Deliver clear documentation, including parts organization and product manuals for new process/equipment introductions.
Capability Building: Train production and maintenance teams; partner with Quality and outside operations to meet specifications.
Qualifications
BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Proficient with CAD (SolidWorks), project management, and statistical analysis software.
ERP experience required; Epicor preferred.
Strong foundation in manufacturing processes and equipment; extensive knowledge of weld metallurgy, welding processes, and equipment.
Proven problem-solving ability, analytical mindset, excellent communication and leadership, and meticulous attention to detail.
Self-directed with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
