Description

Keep critical infrastructure projects moving

Our teams deliver high-quality weld overlay projects that depend on reliable, precisely tuned equipment. As our Industrial Welding Equipment Calibration & Maintenance Technologist, you’ll be the guardian of readiness—maintaining, repairing, staging, and validating welding, gouging, and blasting systems so crews can execute safely and on schedule. Expect roughly 70% shop/warehouse work and 30% travel to industrial field locations.

Why this role matters

  • Quality: You’ll verify machines run within required parameters to achieve consistent results.
  • Safety: You’ll organize work areas, enforce safe practices, and ensure compliant setups.
  • Uptime: You’ll troubleshoot quickly, manage inventories, and keep projects on pace.

Core Impact Areas

  • Prepare, repair, test, and document equipment condition; maintain accurate logs and site inventories.
  • Set up and install weld overlay systems for safe, efficient operations with excellent housekeeping.
  • Calibrate, operate checks, and confirm performance of overlay machines and supporting equipment.
  • Demonstrate proper equipment use and positioning alongside welding and NDE teams.
  • Assist craft personnel on various tasks; contribute to fabrication R&D; support general warehouse operations.
  • Account for all equipment using original checklists; promptly tag and report defects or shortages.
  • Meet productivity and schedule commitments while upholding stringent quality standards.

Growth & Development

With the right training and certifications, you can expand into NDE work, including VT, PT, and UT thickness for weld samples and live projects.

What You Bring

  • 1+ year practical experience in weld overlay and/or industrial construction (preferred).
  • Proficiency with common welding-industry tools and equipment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Comfort with computers and typical applications (such as MS Excel).
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules and respond to project needs.
  • Ethical conduct and adherence to company policies and employment screening requirements.

Compensation & Scheduling

  • Base pay: $20–$27 per hour.
  • Field rotations: Typical 7/12s with straight time, overtime, and double-time on Sundays and Holidays—significantly increasing total earnings potential.

Physical Demands

Work occurs in heavy construction and maintenance environments under varied weather and environmental conditions. You’ll stand and walk for extended periods; climb ladders/scaffolding; bend, stoop, push, carry, and handle equipment up to 100 lbs; and operate in confined, noisy areas with elevated temperatures and humidity.

Environment & Equipment

You’ll work across warehouse, shop, and field locations at industrial job sites, using company vehicles, laptops, cell phones, radio equipment, potential heavy equipment, and various industry tools and support gear.

Travel

  • Approximately 30% travel to industrial sites in the USA, Canada, and other countries as needed.
  • A current U.S. Passport and valid driver’s license are highly recommended.
  • Travel is a firm requirement when field work is scheduled.
