Summary of Position

Join us as a Senior Industry Banker, a pivotal role responsible for spearheading the implementation of our Global Critical Metals and Minerals strategy. You will drive client relationship origination and execute transactions across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

We expect you to possess strong, established relationships with senior management at key client organizations within these regions.

Beyond originating, leading, and up-tiering client relationships, you will be instrumental in generating cross-sell opportunities across a comprehensive suite of financial products. This includes corporate finance, debt and equity capital markets, infrastructure and energy finance, global trade, leveraged finance, and global markets (FX, commodity and IRS hedging, ABS, treasury). Therefore, extensive experience and deep knowledge in these areas are essential.

You should also have a proven background in originating and collaborating with M&A bankers specific to your sector. You will work closely with senior M&A bankers globally within Natixis and with relevant boutique firms, such as Azure Capital.

More broadly, you will serve as a senior point of contact internally and externally within the Americas for the critical metals and minerals sector. Your focus will be on strategic advisory, content and idea origination, and developing balance sheet-light solutions.

You will be expected to present balance sheet proposals, credit reviews, and strategic plans to senior management, collaborating with the global team to facilitate deal execution.

Cultivating and maintaining C-level, decision-maker relationships with clients in these regions is paramount. You will foster similar relationships within the global team. This role reports functionally to the Global Head of Critical Metals and Minerals Industry Group and locally to the Head of Energy Transition and Natural Resources, Americas.

As a senior member of the ETNR Industry Group globally, you will actively contribute to its broader strategy and daily operations, notably by proposing improvements, best practices, and sharing collective intelligence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic dialogues with our core sector clients, generate unsolicited, strategically-oriented pitch ideas, and collaborate with relevant product teams to originate investment banking event mandates.
  • Provide holistic sector coverage for allocated clients and prospects, leading the origination of all relevant Investment Banking and Global Markets products in partnership with product bankers across all platforms and relevant M&A boutiques.
  • Increase commercial and marketing intensity for your client group and promote multi-product pitches to enhance client engagement and outcomes, working with Natixis advisory teams.
  • Provide sector-specific insights for significant business and credit decisions within the sector.
  • Act as a trusted first line of defense for clients under your direct or indirect responsibility.
  • Demonstrate and foster exemplary technical excellence and strong marketing skills.
  • Mentor and develop junior talent within A&C and the business lines you collaborate with.
  • Partner with the Global Head of Critical Metals and Minerals and the Head of ETNR, Americas to track and ensure timely achievement of fee targets established in the budget.
  • Operate independently with limited supervision, while keeping direct management fully informed of all material developments in transactions and/or the sector.
  • Oversee the timely and high-quality submission of proposed transactions to relevant internal business, credit, and management committees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • A minimum of 7 years of corporate finance experience with a strong, proven track record of deal-making in the metals and mining sector at well-established financial organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in client development within the metals and mining sector.
  • Ability to navigate and integrate local and global strategic frameworks, particularly in complex cross-border situations.
  • A strategic and open-minded thinker with a capacity for innovative problem-solving to identify new opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, perform effectively under pressure to meet deadlines, and respond creatively and swiftly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A high performer with a demonstrated track record of achieving exceptional results.
  • Experience executing transactions across the Americas region, with proven technical competence and a solid understanding of IB and M&A execution processes, valuation, credit analysis, financial modeling, documentation, and due diligence.
  • A highly self-motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong team spirit.
  • Sound analytical skills, coupled with strategic vision and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possession of Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses is required.

The salary range for this position will be between $270,000 - $380,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance
