Drive Growth.\n\nTennessee Sign Company is a growing regional sign company specializing in the design, fabrication, printing, installation, and service of commercial signage and graphics throughout Tennessee.\n\nWe are seeking an experienced, results-driven General Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day performance and continued growth of the company.\n\nThis is a senior leadership position for an individual who understands that a successful business requires more than managing today's workload. The General Manager will be responsible for people, sales, operations, customer satisfaction, profitability, accountability, and growth.\n\nWe are looking for a leader who can build a strong team, establish accountability, improve systems, and help take Tennessee Sign Company to the next level.\n\nPosition Summary\n\nThe General Manager will oversee the company's overall operations and work closely with the Owner/President to establish and execute the company's strategic objectives.\n\nThe General Manager will coordinate the activities of:\n\n Sales\n Inside Sales\n Project Management\n Design\n Production\n Installation\n Purchasing\n Customer Service\n Administration\nThe successful candidate will create alignment between these departments and ensure that the company operates as one team with one set of goals.\n\nThe General Manager will be accountable for achieving company objectives related to:\n\nRevenue • Gross Profit • Customer Satisfaction • Production • Schedule Performance • Employee Performance • Cash Flow • Growth\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLeadership & Management\n\n Lead the day-to-day operations of Tennessee Sign Company.\n Establish clear expectations for managers and employees.\n Develop a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\n Conduct regular management meetings and performance reviews.\n Establish departmental goals and performance standards.\n Hold managers accountable for achieving their objectives.\n Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing employees.\n Identify underperformance and implement corrective action when necessary.\n Build a leadership team capable of operating effectively without constant owner involvement.\n Serve as the primary leader responsible for coordinating the company's departments.\nFinancial Performance\n\nThe General Manager will have significant responsibility for the company's financial performance.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\n Establish and manage annual and departmental budgets.\n Monitor revenue and gross profit.\n Monitor operating expenses.\n Review financial statements and key performance indicators.\n Identify opportunities to improve profitability.\n Control unnecessary expenses.\n Monitor labor costs and productivity.\n Improve estimating and pricing discipline.\n Reduce project overruns and unbilled work.\n Monitor accounts receivable and cash flow in coordination with administration.\n Ensure that growth produces profitable revenue—not simply increased sales volume.\nKey Financial Focus\n\nRevenue Growth + Gross Margin + Expense Control = Profitability\n\nThe General Manager will be expected to understand the numbers and use them to make business decisions.\n\nSales & Business Development\n\nThe General Manager will work closely with the sales team to drive profitable growth.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\n Establish company-wide sales goals.\n Monitor sales pipeline and sales performance.\n Develop sales accountability systems.\n Support sales recruiting, training, and development.\n Review sales conversion rates.\n Monitor average project size and gross margin.\n Identify new markets and customer segments.\n Develop strategies to increase repeat and referral business.\n Help establish key-account and strategic-customer programs.\n Ensure sales commitments are realistic and achievable by operations.\nThe General Manager should be comfortable discussing sales numbers, pipeline performance, closing ratios, pricing, margins, and customer acquisition costs.\n\nOperations Management\n\nOversee the company's operating departments to ensure projects move efficiently from sale through completion.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\n Establish efficient workflows.\n Monitor production capacity.\n Monitor installation capacity.\n Improve scheduling.\n Reduce bottlenecks.\n Improve communication between departments.\n Establish standard operating procedures.\n Identify operational inefficiencies.\n Implement systems that allow the company to scale.\n Ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.\n Monitor project profitability from sale through completion.\nProject Management\n\nThe General Manager will ensure the project-management function maintains control of the company's active workload.\n\nThis includes:\n\n Monitoring project schedules.\n Reviewing major and high-risk projects.\n Identifying potential project problems early.\n Ensuring change orders are captured and billed.\n Reducing project delays.\n Improving communication with customers.\n Ensuring sold projects are properly handed off to operations.\n Reviewing completed projects for profitability and performance.\nProduction & Installation\n\nThe General Manager will oversee the performance of the production and installation departments through their respective managers.\n\nKey objectives include:\n\n Improve production efficiency.\n Improve installation efficiency.\n Reduce rework.\n Reduce material waste.\n Improve on-time completion.\n Maintain high quality standards.\n Maintain strong safety performance.\n Properly maintain equipment and facilities.\n Ensure production and installation capacity supports sales growth.\nCustomer Experience\n\nThe General Manager is responsible for ensuring Tennessee Sign Company delivers a professional customer experience from the first sales contact through project completion.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\n Establish customer-service standards.\n Monitor customer satisfaction.\n Address significant customer issues.\n Identify recurring service problems.\n Develop systems to prevent customer issues.\n Encourage repeat and referral business.\n Protect the company's reputation in the marketplace.\nStrategic Planning & Growth\n\nThe General Manager will work with ownership to develop and execute the company's growth strategy.\n\nResponsibilities may include:\n\n Establish annual business objectives.\n Develop growth plans.\n Evaluate new markets.\n Evaluate new products and services.\n Analyze equipment and facility requirements.\n Evaluate additional locations or expansion opportunities.\n Develop organizational structure required for growth.\n Identify acquisition or strategic partnership opportunities when appropriate.\n Develop succession and leadership-development plans.\nSystems & Process Improvement\n\nA major responsibility of the General Manager will be helping Tennessee Sign Company move from an owner-dependent operation toward a systems-driven organization.\n\nThe General Manager will:\n\n Establish written procedures.\n Improve workflow between departments.\n Implement accountability systems.\n Improve use of CRM and project-management software.\n Establish dashboards and KPIs.\n Standardize recurring processes.\n Document responsibilities and expectations.\n Identify bottlenecks and eliminate unnecessary steps.\n sales and customer-service understanding.\n Excellent organizational and communication skills.\n Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.\n Demonstrated ability to establish accountability.\n Strong computer and business-system skills.\n Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nPreferred Experience\n\nExperience in one or more of the following
