Lead Infant Teacher – Founding Teaching Team
Location: The Learning Experience – Gaithersburg, MD
Pay: $17–$20 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
The Learning Experience – Gaithersburg is seeking a caring and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our opening team. This role supports children during their earliest stages of development by creating a calm, responsive classroom environment that encourages bonding, sensory exploration, and early communication.
As part of a new center opening, this position offers the opportunity to help shape classroom culture and establish strong routines from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily routines for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months
- Provide attentive care including feeding, diapering, and nap supervision
- Create a nurturing environment that supports early development and security
- Plan and implement age-appropriate sensory learning activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families about routines and developmental progress
- Support assistant teachers and help establish consistent classroom structure
- Ensure compliance with Maryland licensing requirements and center policies
Qualifications
- Infant/Toddler qualified under Maryland childcare regulations preferred
- High school diploma required (ECE coursework or CDA a plus)
- Prior infant classroom experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of responsive caregiving and infant development
- Reliable, collaborative, and nurturing teaching approach
