Position Title: Early Education Teacher

Location: Our Children's Place

Reports To: Lead Teacher

Position Overview: Our Children's Place is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. The teacher will plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum, foster social and emotional growth, and ensure the physical and mental well-being of all children in their care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and federal educational standards.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including storytelling, games, and hands-on activities to facilitate learning.
  • Incorporate play-based learning activities that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.

• Classroom Management:

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
  • Provide individualized support to students as needed.

• Parent Communication:

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and development.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and any concerns.

• Professional Development:

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay current with educational research and best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
• Previous experience teaching in an early childhood setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and parents.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry children and objects up to 40 pounds.
• Able to sit on the floor and interact with children at their level.
• Perform duties both indoors and outdoors.

Working Conditions:
