Previous experience and an education-related degree are preferred.
A Teacher at The Goddard School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher are responsible to work together and in conjunction with the entire faculty.

General Qualifications
A Teacher must meet the qualifications of his/her state and those set forth in the National Standards for hiring (see www.bls.gov), and more.
Teacher Qualification Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or higher degree
- Minimum of 2 years of documented experience working with young children in an early childhood setting.
- Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable
Teacher Responsibilities
A Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment by:
- -Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in your classroom.
- -Understanding and implementing, when necessary, The Goddard School’s emergency procedures.
- -Posting schedules that meet the children’s need for routine and learning.
Ensuring a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs by:
- -Building teamwork.
- -Developing lesson plans.
- -Managing your classroom according to The Goddard School standards.
These positions are supervised and evaluated by the Director but receives work support and assignments from the Director, Owner or Assistant Directors.
