The Infection Control Preventionist / Staffing and Development Coordinator is a full-time role combining infection control and staff education responsibilities.
The ICP manages infection prevention programs, tracks infection trends, conducts outbreak investigations, and ensures compliance with regulations. They serve as a liaison with health agencies, educate staff on infection control practices, and analyze infection data for quality improvement.
The SDC plans and implements staff training, oversees clinical competency evaluations, and ensures educational programs meet regulatory standards. They coordinate continuing education, assist with employee health initiatives, and support safety programs.
Qualifications include RN or LPN licensure, current CPR, relevant experience in long-term and acute care, and preferred certification in infection control. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills, with a schedule of 30 hours/week over four days, plus additional hours for backup staffing.
