    Infection Preventionist & Senior Infection Preventionist at Providence Portland Medical Center- Full-Time, Day Schedule

    This is a combined posting for an Infection Preventionist and Senior Infection Preventionist. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title.     The Infection Prevention Specialist is considered an Infection Prevention Practitioner. An IP Specialist is expected to work autonomously and should not require mentorship in their role.

    All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level. In collaboration with the IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, all IPs will follow all current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations.

    Infection Preventionists provide infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization.

    The Infection Prevention Expert is considered to have expertise in Infection Prevention Expert. An IP Expert is expected to work autonomously and to serve as a mentor to other infection preventionists.

    Infection Preventionist

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field.
    • National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology within 1 year of hire
    • 2 years of Healthcare experience; 4 years preferred.
    • 2 years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience; 4 years preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field.

    Infection Preventionist, Salary Range:

    Portland, OR Min: $45.14, Max: $70.07

    Senior Infection Preventionist

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degreein Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
    • National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology upon hire
    • 5 years of Healthcare experience.
    • 5 years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or related health sciences field
    • Fellow of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (FAPIC) within 2 years of hire Or
    • Advanced Leadership Certification in IPC (AL-CIP) within 2 years of hire
    • 10 or more years of Healthcare experience.
    • 10 or more years of Epidemiology or Infection Prevention experience.

    Senior Infection Preventionist, Salary Range:

    Portland, OR Min: $52.19, Max: $82.39

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
