Winchester Gardens is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist Coordinator to join our team!

Winchester Gardens is a Springpoint Senior Living community located in Maplewood, NJ. We are seeking a full-time Infection Preventionist Coordinator to join our team. At Springpoint, the Infection Preventionist Coordinator is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare associated infections in accordance with current federal, state, local regulations, and to ensure that an effective infection prevention and control program is always maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate the community infection prevention program to prevent, recognize, and control the onset and spread of infection.
  • Oversees the community’s antimicrobial stewardship program that includes antibiotic use & prescribing protocols, laboratory communication, and a system for monitoring antimicrobial
  • Analyzes, identifies, and presents trends/variances and develops performance improvement.
  • Review and analyze laboratory reports and consult with Director of Nursing & Medical Director to develop the plan of care to assure that aseptic techniques are implemented.
  • Provide infection prevention and control education to all employees during orientation and annually thereafter, including classes in infection prevention and control practices and employee health.
  • Develops education program in response to identified infection control needs identified through QAPI, rounding on units.
  • Organize and chair the community’s Infection Prevention and Control Committee monthly meetings and maintain all meeting minutes and attendance records.

Education and Experience:

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, microbiology, clinical laboratory science or related field
  • Current NJ State Nursing License (RN or LPN)
  • Specialized Training in Infection Control
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in health care or Infection Control

Pay Range: $50.00-$54.00/hour
