Infection Preventionist

The Infection Preventionist is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs); educating staff on infection prevention practices; and developing and maintaining health system policies and procedures that ensure compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements, including those from The Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as other applicable national guidelines
