Infection Preventionist

Location: Panama City, FL

Facility: Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Hospital

Department: Infection Control

Schedule: Day shift | Full-time | Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm | Weekly on-call rotation

• Lead medication therapy management in specialized clinical areas such as oncology, cardiology, or nuclear medicine to ensure safe, evidence-based treatment and optimal patient outcomes.
• Review and verify complex medication orders to identify potential risks, resolve drug-related issues, and support high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Serve as a clinical pharmacy expert and trusted resource by providing drug information, treatment recommendations, and guidance to physicians, nurses, and health-care leaders.
• Oversee the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications while mentoring pharmacy technicians and supporting safe, efficient pharmacy operations.
• Educate patients, staff, and pharmacy learners to promote medication safety, adherence, and professional development across the care team.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing preferred. Licensed as a Registered
  Nurse in Florida preferred. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for
  multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
  degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing  
• Master’s degree in Public Health
