    The Infectious Disease Clinical Nursing Director manages the daily clinical operations and care coordination for patients living with HIV/AIDS. This role focuses on optimizing patient health outcomes through medical case management, treatment adherence counseling, and coordination of multidisciplinary care. The coordinator acts as the clinical liaison between patients, infectious disease physicians, Ryan White program case managers, and community support services.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Treatment Adherence & Counseling: Educate patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimens, manage side effects, and develop specialized strategies to improve medication adherence.
    • Clinical Oversight:  Oversees the planning, organization, and directs all nursing activities in the Adult Health Promotion Clinic, providing leadership support to subordinate staff.
    • Care Coordination: Manage a caseload of HIV-positive patients, ensuring seamless scheduling for routine lab work (e.g., viral load, CD4 counts), provider appointments, and specialty referrals.
    • Ryan White Program Liaison: Collaborate closely with medical case managers to track client eligibility and ensure clinical documentation meets Ryan White Grant compliance standards.
    • PrEP/PEP Program Management: Oversee the clinic's Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) protocols, including patient screening, testing, and follow-up.
    • Lab & Rapid Testing: Perform and oversee rapid HIV/STI testing, interpret complex laboratory trends, and coordinate immediate linkage-to-care protocols for newly diagnosed individuals.
    • Comorbidity Monitoring: Screen patients for common co-occurring conditions, including Tuberculosis (TB), Hepatitis C, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and mental health or substance use needs.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and seven (7) years of experience as a Registered Nurse, four (4) years of which in an administrative or supervisory capacity and current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse; or eight (8) years of experience as a Registered Nurse (HCP073) or position equivalent, two (2) years of which in an environment related to the area of assignment, six (6) years of which as a supervisor and current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
