The Opportunity

Deseret Book is a leading retailer and publisher of faith-centered books, media, and products; operating retail stores, DeseretBook.com, and Bookshelf+, our growing digital subscription service.

Position Summary

We're seeking a strategic, execution-minded Influencer & Affiliate Marketing Manager to build, launch, and scale both programs. On the affiliate side, you'll recruit, onboard, and manage high-value affiliates and content creators through our Tapfiliate platform, driving measurable traffic and sales. On the influencer side, you'll develop a structured program to expand Deseret Book's audience beyond its core base through authentic creator partnerships.

You'll own the full lifecycle, partner discovery, recruitment, contract negotiation, content execution, performance tracking, and optimization, while ensuring every partnership reflects Deseret Book's brand values.

Core Responsibilities

Affiliate Program Management

• Recruit and onboard affiliates (Deseret Book creators, third-party creators, external influencers); manage via Tapfiliate.

• Serve as primary partner contact; develop training materials and enablement resources.

• Deliver briefs, creative assets, and promotional calendars; ensure brand-consistent content.

• Optimize conversion paths (landing pages, links, offers, attribution) to improve ROI.

• Track KPIs (sales, conversion rate, CAC, AOV, revenue per affiliate); report insights to stakeholders.

• Enforce brand guidelines, FTC compliance, and advertising rules; monitor for fraud and policy violations.

Influencer Marketing

• Design and launch a structured influencer program focused on audience and Bookshelf+ subscriber growth.

• Discover and vet influencers based on engagement, demographics, content quality, and brand alignment.

• Negotiate contracts (rates, exclusivity, deliverables, usage rights) with DMC Business Affairs.

• Review content for quality and brand compliance; optimize creator mix and platform allocation based on performance.

Budget & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Own the influencer/affiliate budget; reconcile spend monthly.

• Coordinate with Ecommerce, Content, Retail, Bookshelf+, and Digital teams to integrate with company-wide campaigns.

• Deliver regular performance reports on growth, revenue attribution, and partner health.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years in affiliate, influencer, or creator/partnership marketing (retail, ecommerce, or media preferred).

• Track record building or scaling an affiliate program; hands-on with Tapfiliate (or Impact, CJ, Rakuten).

• Experience vetting, negotiating, and managing influencer partnerships.

• Proficient with Google Analytics, performance reporting, and marketing budget management.

• Knowledge of FTC guidelines, affiliate compliance, and disclosure requirements.

• Strong communication and relationship skills across creators, internal teams, and legal.

• Familiarity with major social platforms and current content trends.

• Self-starter — building a function, not inheriting one.

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in faith-based, book/publishing, or family-oriented consumer brands.

• Familiarity with subscription-based business models and subscriber acquisition strategies.

• Experience creating training/enablement content for external partners.

• Knowledge of click fraud detection tools and affiliate compliance monitoring.
