The Informatica Engineer – Level II provides enterprise-wide Informatica administration, production support, monitoring, deployment, troubleshooting, and ETL support. The role primarily focuses on maintaining and supporting Informatica PowerCenter, PowerExchange, and CDC environments, along with relational databases, UNIX/Linux systems, and data warehouse processes.
This is a hands-on Level II support/engineering role, so the ideal candidate is generally around 3–6 years of experience, rather than an architect or highly senior profile.
Job Responsibilities
Administer and support Informatica PowerCenter environments.
Perform daily/weekly/monthly Informatica monitoring and maintenance.
Troubleshoot Informatica production issues and resolve escalated tickets.
Manage Informatica accounts, repositories, mappings, workflows, and deployments.
Perform repository backups and migrate mappings/workflows between environments.
Support patching, upgrades, configuration, and version migrations.
Monitor Informatica performance, capacity, and usage metrics.
Diagnose and improve Informatica performance.
Work with PowerExchange and Change Data Capture (CDC) processes.
Develop and support basic ETL workflows.
Work with relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, Sybase, and MS SQL Server.
Use UNIX/Linux and shell scripting for operational and troubleshooting activities.
Provide production support for Informatica applications and interfaces.
Coordinate testing and deployment of Informatica environments.
Support internal/external projects involving Informatica integrations.
Document procedures, changes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
Work with vendors, consultants, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
Provide technical guidance to less-experienced team members.
Identify and implement small-scale process improvements.
Participate in or lead smaller Informatica-related internal projects.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; OR equivalent additional work experience.
3+ years of related IT/data integration experience.
2+ years administering/supporting Informatica or similar toolsets.
Hands-on knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter.
Knowledge of Informatica PowerExchange and CDC (Change Data Capture).
Basic ETL development experience.
Basic knowledge of relational databases: Oracle, DB2, Sybase, and/or MS SQL Server.
Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
Basic Shell scripting knowledge.
Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.
Understanding of Data Warehouse concepts.
Experience with Informatica monitoring, deployment, migration, repository backup, patching/upgrades, and performance troubleshooting.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, business, vendors, and other teams.
