Informatica ETL Engineer – Worcester, MAJob Description We are seeking an experienced Informatica ETL contractor to partner with our Claims Business unit. In this role, you will act as a core technical problem-solver—evaluating operational challenges, auditing legacy data workflows, and designing robust, modern ETL frameworks.
You will work closely with our database team and provide heavy production support to ensure high data reliability. Prior experience in the P&C Insurance industry is not required; we are prioritizing strong core technical skills in Informatica PowerCenter and Oracle, a dedicated support mindset, and outstanding communication skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesProblem Analysis & Solution Design Deep dive into existing data workflows within the Claims business area to identify performance bottlenecks, operational pain points, and systemic errors.
Propose, design, and implement end-to-end technical solutions to improve overall system efficiency and business capabilities.
ETL Architecture & Framework Development Audit and research current ETL processes to recommend operational improvements and architectural changes.
Design, build, and deploy flexible, scalable, and reusable ETL frameworks.
Collaboration & Production Support Work hand-in-hand with the Database Engineering/DBA teams to align data models, optimize SQL queries, and streamline deployments.
Provide comprehensive, hands-on production support, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning for critical ETL data pipelines.
Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Stack & ExperienceInformatica: Advanced expertise in Informatica (PowerCenter and/or IICS) for building, managing, and troubleshooting data pipelines.
Oracle: Strong knowledge of Oracle databases, including complex SQL querying, PL/SQL, and query performance optimization.
Support Expertise: Extensive, proven experience in production support, incident management, and system maintenance.
ETL Frameworks: Demonstrated background in auditing legacy ETL flows and designing new, scalable framework patterns.
Soft Skills & Soft RequirementsCommunication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate technical issues clearly to business stakeholders.
Interpersonal Savvy: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly when partnering with database teams and business leads.
Domain Experience: No Insurance experience required. We welcome candidates from any industry background who bring strong ETL engineering and support skills.
