The Office Conference & Event Services is seeking candidates for the Information Booth role.
JOB DESCRIPTION - Information Booth Worker
Specific Duties: 1. Review the daily log box for any reservations that will be taking place that day 2. Maintain Information Booth coverage and provide assistance to guests who arrive 3. Provide parking permit and instructions as needed.
Additional Duties: Opportunities may be available for event monitoring throughout the year. Any other tasks as requested by Conference and Event Services Coordinators, including but not limited to: a. Answering phones and taking messages a. Running errands b. Completing special projects that might arise.
Staff Patterns The Information Booth Workers report directly to the Event Managers for Conference and Event Services
Terms of Employment
Period of Employment is for September through May, and may extend through the summer
Opportunity to work for Conference and Event Services during the winter, spring and summer breaks, if needed
Work a minimum of 2 days per week in order to handle duties in a timely manner
Full-time enrollment in an undergraduate program at The College of New Jersey

Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours including early morning, evening and weekends. Must be able to take shifts from 7am - 4pm.
Please note that during high volume priority events start and end times of shifts may vary based on business needs.
Familiarity with the operations of the Campus
An interest in conference and group events
Familiarity with Microsoft Office; proficiency in Excel
Strong customer service skills
Good organizational and communication skills and the ability to take initiative
Familiarity with Conference & Event Services operations and functions for the college's internal and external clients
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
Accurate, detail oriented, good time management skills
Learning Objectives: (What skills the student will be developing through this position)
(1) Gain knowledge of campus resources.
(2) Provide quality customer service.
(3) Gain an understanding of professionalism and confidence working in a fast paced academic environment.
