Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is currently seeking a dynamic ISSO to join our White Sands Missile Range team in New Mexico (WSMR). AMS is a technology-focused defense company focused on integrated air and missile defense technologies. The candidate will be supporting an ArmyProject Office providing ISSO support to an Army Test Team operating at WhiteSands Missile Range, NM (WSMR). The ISSO will be a key member of a teamperforming Hardware and Software Cybersecurity analysis along with keyfunctions supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment andAuthorization (A&A) process for data processing, test, and tacticalsystems.  Candidate must be able toprioritize competing requirements for time and resources and be able to adjudicateresource requirements based on understanding of Government customer and missionneeds.

Principal Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Provide accurate technical evaluations of the equipment,software applications, full systems, or network and documenting the securityposture, capabilities, and vulnerabilities against applicable NIST controls.
  • Selecting and assessing security controls, timely completionof accreditation packages, formulating and implementing mitigations andmaintaining the security posture of systems.
  • Must have experience with eMASS and initiating, updating, andmaintaining RMF packages.
  • Identify, assess, make risk mitigation recommendations, anddocument system security threats/risks throughout a systems lifecycle;validate system security requirements; formulate and maintain documentation andsystem certification and accreditation activities (planning, testing, assessingand coordinating).
  • Ability to work with system developer to update, maintain,and track RMF and POA&M documentation.
  • Documenting preliminary or residual security risks for system operation and manage and approve Authorization Packages.
  • Monitoring and evaluating a system's compliance withDepartment of Defense (DoD) security, resilience, and dependabilityrequirements including performing validation steps, comparing actual resultswith expected results, and analyzing the differences to identify impacts andrisks at the software application, system, and network levels..
  • Work with teams to provide solutions and to ensure continuedfunctionality of systems within DoD RMF Framework.

Required Experience:

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess and maintain a US Secret security clearance


Required Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree (engineering or STEM related field) with 3+years of experience in Cybersecurity Domain or Non-Degree with 8+ years ofexperience in Cybersecurity Domain. 
  • Experience with implementing and evaluating DoD STIGrequirements, NIST RMF, IAVMs and Cybersecurity assessment tools (ACAS, Nessus,SCC, STIG Viewer)
  • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process andNIST security controls
  • Knowledge of information system architecture and standards asthey apply to cyber security
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-160, Systems Security Engineering
  • Minimum 8570 IAM I Certification (i.e. CAP, GSLC, Sec+ CE, etc.)

  • Strong desire to contribute to overall team success
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite
