The Student Information Specialist will support the Registrar function through enhancement and maintenance of student information system modules related to academic records and scheduling, develop processes/programs for data extraction and communications management, and collaborate with other SIS offices/processes to develop quality improvements through technological strategies. Other duties as assigned. All staff positions on campus support students and will be involved in student-focused activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
Technical Functions (40%)
Technical Support: Provide technical support to the Registrar's Office and College entities with emphasis on managing student information system (SIS) functions specific to registration including (but not limited to) building the academic calendar in the SIS, registration appointments programming, registration rules (required advising and registration holds), and troubleshooting registration issues for faculty, staff, and students and registration priorities. Support Roster Verification tools through SIS while monitoring blank grades, change of grades, incompletes, and transcription of both technology are beneficial. Provide ad hoc reporting of academic data to various offices on campus based on Enrollment, Registration, and Program information. Serve as main contact and provider of all reporting to National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) in a timely manner throughout the year while ensuring the accuracy of student records in the NSC database and resolving degree verification or enrollment issues when they arise. Serve as main point of contact for outside requests for Military and Freedom of Information act (FOI)and Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Information (FVT-GE) reporting.
Software Oversight: Maintenance/Skill Development: Coordinate processing and system set up with critical events supported by the application system to ensure quality control and integrity while adhering to best practices in collaboration with department colleagues. Maintain testing sites and implementation of vendor updates and enhancements for student information system and web applications, user interface, and reporting tool and data warehouse. Review of upcoming patches, issues, and enhancements reported on a vendor-supported website. Application of security development assignment to users within appropriate systems. Use all available resources in line with best practices to maintain and improve skills and become familiar with emerging technologies applicable to assigned areas. Serve as an integral member of the IS Group and USNH ET&S to monitor software changes and express needs of Registrar's Office in relation to software and timing of updates to system services. KSC Registrar designee for data steward oversight for USNH data tool (i.e. Data Galaxy) related to data definitions and maintenance.

Compensation Pay Range:
$47,920.00 - $85,410.00
