    This class provides initiative-taking technical expertise to facilitate the effective use of technology products and services by its customers. This is a non-supervisory position which may lead teams and projects. This position is located at Escambia County's Downtown office in Pensacola, Florida.

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

    Analyzes business processes and leverages technology to provide solutions to meet our user partner's needs

    Provides project management, coordination and/or technical support during project implementation

    Performs complex troubleshooting procedures and system and data analysis in resolving user problems reported to the service desk

    Provides consulting which includes, but is not limited to, assisting customers with standard products and implementing local solutions and configurations

    Integrates new and existing systems to minimize duplication and enhance information collection and dissemination

    Research trends related to information systems and business applications; attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and user groups

    Prepares a variety of technical documentation, procedures, standards, and/or reports regarding projects and applications

    Integrates, tests, deploys, implements and/or maintains software and applications

    Assists user partner with data and reporting needs and provides specialized, dedicated technical support

    Educate customers on how to use standard products more effectively

    Identify training opportunities

    Performs other duties as assigned

    TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Qualification Requirements:

    Training and Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business, Management Information Systems, or related field, and 2 years' experience in computer application development, systems administration, network applications or PC support; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

    Licenses and Certifications:

    Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence

    Preferred Qualification Requirements:

    in-depth technical knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products. (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, PowerBI)

    ability to program SQL, PowerShell, VB, C++ or .Net

    knowledge of relational database design

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics (KSAOs):

    analyze business processes and make recommendations for leveraging technology to improve processes.

    knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, policies, personal computers, operating systems, and related software applications.

    manage projects using good Project management principles and techniques

    troubleshooting complex hardware, software, database, and/or network problems

    querying enterprise relational databases

    determining customer needs

    communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

    Emergency Management Responsibilities:

    During emergency conditions, the incumbent of this position will automatically be considered an emergency service worker. This employee is subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situations and is expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

    Positions in this class typically require sitting, standing, talking, hearing, seeing, finger and hand dexterity as well as repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Sedentary work involves sitting frequently during the day. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
