Summary:
The Information Technology Engineer I is an early career technical professional who provides operational support, advanced troubleshooting, and maintenance for IT systems and services. This role contributes to the stability and reliability of enterprise platforms by resolving technical issues, performing system tasks, and following established engineering processes. The Engineer I works under guidance but is expected to manage complex support scenarios appropriate to the assigned engineering discipline.
Responsibilities:
Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for systems within the assigned engineering area.
Assist with configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and daily operations of IT systems and services.
Participate in identifying root causes for escalated issues and work with staff on corrective actions.
Perform system checks, health monitoring, and operational readiness activities.
Head up or participate in project tasks and implementation work under the direction of leadership.
Create and maintain documentation for changes, troubleshooting steps, and technical procedures.
Follow established engineering standards, security practices, and change management processes.

Build technical skills through training, mentoring, and hands on experience to progress in the engineering track.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
Bachelors degree required. Equivalent work experience would be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree (see "Experience" section)
Experience
2+ years of experience preferred
For applicants without a Bachelors degree, an additional 4 years of experience are required
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
None required
In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
