The Information Technology Teacher plans, organizes, and implements learning experiences that engage students through intro to computers with an emphasis on Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Networking, Network Management, Network Security, such as CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Networking+, cybersecurity (CompTIA Security+), and other related areas. The instructor develops student life skills and encourages the ability to successfully transition through school, and from high school to college, or the workplace.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in the field preferred with at least two (2) years experience in the field OR 5 or more recent/current years work experience in IT or closely related field based on the Ohio Department of Education's Licensing requirements for Career-Technical Education (verification required)
- Hold Ohio Certification /Licensure CW 140200 (Business & Information Services); OR have the ability to obtain based on the Ohio Department of Education's Licensing requirements for Career-Technical Education which will require college coursework
- A strong working knowledge of industry software, such as CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Networking+, cybersecurity (CompTIA Security+), and other related areas
Salary scale is based on years of experience and degree held. New teachers can bring up to 10 years of verified experience.
