Kentucky Educational Television (KET) has a full‑time position in Lexington, Kentucky: Information Technology Manager and Lead Systems Administrator.Used by more than two million people each week, KET is Kentucky's only statewide media organization, broadcasting into 8 states and 10 media markets and providing live and on‑demand streaming services. In addition to high‑quality PBS programming, KET produces hundreds of hours of award‑winning local productions and creates nationally recognized educational resources.This is a unique opportunity to work with an outstanding, respected, and trusted public media team, supporting a wide variety of public affairs and general productions, including Kentucky's only nightly statewide news program, six locally produced series, and ongoing special programs.Our Ideal Candidate Will: Manage and oversee IT systems and security, ensuring operational excellence and reliable services.Administrate and enforce security practices to prevent and mitigate breaches, viruses, malware, and other intrusions; monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues and escalated incidents.Administrate installations, security, operations, and maintenance of IT systems, including all infrastructure components, hardware and software, virtual environments, routers, firewalls, data switches, hubs, cabling, VPNs, KVMs, circuits, video streaming, and other network components.Administrate Active Directory, servers, Office 365 and its components, IDS systems, data backup systems, cloud‑based infrastructure, website servers, Linux environments, IP phone systems, security cameras and access systems, and other IT systems.Monitor, troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve complex issues; respond to and solve escalated incidents.Act as liaison with broadcast/transmission engineers, web developers, and production staff to enhance network efficiencies, improve workflows, and solve problems.Administrate asset‑management systems and maintain records of IT deployments, hardware refreshes, maintenance, IP addressing, standard operating procedures, system documentation, password management systems, software/firmware releases, and IT policies.Administrate end‑user deployment, support, and training for PC and Mac devices; manage help‑desk workflow to solve internal user issues.Participate in technical training and research to enable continuous improvement, innovation, and maximized uptime for on‑site and off‑site staff, vendors, and partners; ensure technology solutions align with organizational objectives, industry standards, and applicable statutes and regulations.Effectively lead, coach, and mentor the team; carry out supervisory duties including hiring, training, planning, directing work, reviewing job descriptions, providing performance oversight and timely feedback, resolving issues, and monitoring attendance and leave requests per agency policies and applicable laws.Successful Applicants Will Have the Following Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, or a relevant field and 7+ years of hands‑on experience, including 3+ years of people‑management experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Expertise with network administration and security, business IT systems, enterprise data management, and cloud technologies.Proven experience that can readily be deployed in supporting Fabric switching, VMware, Active Directory, Microsoft Server and Office products, cloud services, SaaS, and infrastructure systems.Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail; efficient, creative, and positive.Ability to collaborate, meet deadlines, and deliver on strategic goals, especially during complex and challenging situations; strong organizational, writing, and verbal skills; effective, professional interpersonal communication for technical and non‑technical audiences.Moderate physical activity required, including climbing ladders and handling average‑weight objects up to 70 pounds or standing/walking for more than four (4) hours per day.Must be available on a flexible schedule and for weekend and overnight travel; must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.Benefits: Creative, engaging work environment with opportunities to collaborate and advance professionally.Paid time off.Several health insurance plan selections.Retirement savings options.The salary will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
