About the Position

Manages professional and support staff in two or more core functions (e.g., infrastructure, operations and support and system delivery) or where there are professional and technical staff working in areas of systems delivery and integration. Provides Agency or Information Technology Services unit with optimal systems and services to support their business needs. This position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight of the Information Technology Department and ensuring that technology services effectively support the agency's mission and daily operations. This position will oversee the planning, implementation, maintenance, and security of the agency's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, wireless systems, telecommunications, software applications, electronic health record systems, cybersecurity, data backup, disaster recovery, and other critical technology resources. Responsibilities include supervising and evaluating IT personnel, managing technology projects and vendors, developing and monitoring the IT budget, evaluating technology needs, recommending hardware and software solutions, and coordinating with agency leadership, state agencies, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve technology-related issues. The position will also be responsible for maintaining reliable and secure systems, supporting technology modernization efforts, ensuring compliance with applicable state policies and standards, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery through technology. This position should possess strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with experience managing IT personnel, technology projects, budgets, and enterprise-level systems. Experience with network infrastructure, server administration, virtualization, cybersecurity, electronic health records, telecommunications, backup and disaster recovery, and vendor management is highly desirable.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave

Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

Military Leave

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
