GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The intent of this description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees on this job. Under the general direction of the Director of Customer Service and Shared Services, sets goals and direction for Information Technology work through the IT Applications Supervisor and other personnel. Directs the management of OMU information systems and services to ensure efficient and productive tools and operations. Provides overall direction for the general operation development and production activities of computerized management information systems. Requires high level of self-management, knowledge, judgment, analytic ability and creativity, such as investigating complex problems or situations, analyzing information and recommending solutions. Manages department in accordance with OMU policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Technical degree required in such disciplines as Computer Engineering, CPA, etc., plus 9 to 10 years related experience and/or training, and 3 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal, logical or scientific symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, and graphs. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Supervises a moderate size group (8-15) of employees engaged in important, complex operations, consisting of employees in different classifications who perform a wide variety of duties.
Supervises the following departments: Positions Supervised: IT Applications Supervisor, IT Security Administrator, Sr. Systems Administrator, Systems Administrator, Sr. Network Administrator, and IT Systems Support Specialist
RESPONSIBILITY FOR FUNDS, PROPERTY and EQUIPMENT
Regularly responsible for funds, building premises, inventory, or other property owned, controlled, or leased by the organization and, in addition, may have temporary custody and responsibility of patron property, which through carelessness, error, loss, theft, misappropriation, or similar action would result in very important monetary losses to the organization. The total value for the above would range from $1,000,000 to $10,000,000.
ACCURACY
Probable errors would normally not be detected in succeeding operations and could possibly affect organization-patron relationship, involve re-work, or additional expenditures in order to properly resolve the error. The possibility of such errors would occur quite frequently in performance of the job. May also cause inaccuracies or incomplete information that would be used in other segments of the organization as a basis for making subsequent decisions, plans, or actions.
