Job Description:
Mid Level (5 7 Years Experience) Role Purpose The Project Manager independently leads delivery for software product initiatives in an AI-enabled SDLC. This role combines strong execution ownership with growing breadth across product thinking, engineering operations, Agile coaching, stakeholder management, data-driven reporting, and AI-assisted workflow adoption. The role owns project-level planning, risk management, backlog quality, delivery metrics, scope control, and stakeholder coordination, while contributing meaningfully to capacity planning, product discovery support, release coordination, and continuous improvement. This is an experienced PM role with full project ownership and growing influence across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Planning
- Build and manage project plans independently, including dependencies, buffers, sequencing, and critical path considerations.
- Lead day-to-day delivery execution across one or more Agile teams, ensuring work progresses predictably and transparently.
- Partner with Development Managers and team leads to adapt plans as scope, delivery context, or business priorities evolve.
- Support implementation roadmaps and maintain delivery accuracy across Jira and related tooling.
Risk, Scope & Resource Management
- Proactively identify, assess, score, and mitigate delivery risks; facilitate project-level risk reviews and determine when escalation is needed.
- Own project-level scope and change management by maintaining change logs, communicating impacts, and facilitating scope trade-off decisions.
- Plan resource allocation at the project level, forecast capacity gaps, and coordinate shared resources across teams.
- Coordinate releases, dependencies, and change impacts across one or more workstreams.
Backlog, Requirements & Delivery Metrics
- Maintain a well-prioritized, estimable backlog and facilitate effective refinement sessions to keep work sprint-ready.
- Lead requirements workshops and translate business needs into clear, testable user stories and delivery-ready specifications.
- Build project dashboards and reporting views tailored to stakeholder needs, surfacing insights rather than only status.
- Use metrics such as velocity, throughput, risk trends, and delivery health indicators to guide execution decisions.
Stakeholder Leadership & Communication
- Manage a diverse stakeholder group independently and tailor communication to technical, product, and business audiences.
- Navigate conflicting priorities and facilitate alignment across teams and functions.
- Provide clear, timely updates on progress, risks, delivery health, and decisions.
- Facilitate cross-team discussions and drive action-oriented follow-through.
Agile, Workshops & Continuous Improvement
- Apply Agile practices consistently and adapt ceremonies to team context and maturity.
- Facilitate retrospectives, planning workshops, discovery sessions, and other working forums that improve clarity and execution.
- Organize learning sessions, office hours, and improvement activities that strengthen delivery discipline and collaboration.
- Coach teams on iterative delivery, continuous improvement, and effective team practices.
AI-Enabled Delivery & Product Alignment
- Use approved AI tools for risk summaries, retrospective outputs, stakeholder communication, and first-pass delivery planning.
- Critically assess AI-generated outputs and identify when results are incomplete, unreliable, or require refinement.
- Proactively adopt AI tools to improve personal and team productivity and share effective use cases with the team.
- Contribute to roadmap and discovery conversations by surfacing delivery insights, customer context, and business trade-offs.
- Participate in design reviews and discovery activities, advocating for user needs and product quality in delivery decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 7 years of experience in project management, Agile delivery, product delivery, or related software development roles.
- Proven ability to independently manage project plans, RAID processes, backlog health, and delivery reporting.
- Experience working directly with engineering, product, and cross-functional stakeholders in software product environments.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and prioritization skills.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and related delivery/reporting tools.
Preferred
- Experience with release coordination, capacity planning, and backlog ownership.
- Familiarity with engineering metrics, delivery dashboards, and basic product metrics.
- Experience with AI-assisted project delivery workflows in an approved enterprise environment.
- Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or product-related certification is a plus.
