Join UPMC's two-year Information Technology Rotation (ITR accelerated learning program! The ITR Program, a full-time entry level position, enables high-achieving, participants the chance to pursue four unique, six-month rotations throughout UPMC's Information Technology division.

The next cohort begins in January 2027, and it is your chance to explore a wide range of IT roles while contributing to innovative healthcare solutions!

About the Program

Whatever your interest in Information Technology is - highly technical to non-technical spaces and everything in between - the ITR Program is the place for you! Our accelerated learning program allows participants to explore various functions of IT across multiple UPMC divisions, such as the Corporate Services, Health Services, and Insurance Services divisions. Rotation placements can be in the functions of software engineering, project management, and analyst roles in areas such as (but not limited to information security, enterprise architecture, custom application development, project management, coding and testing, infrastructure, Electronic Heath Record (EHR support, and strategic planning.

Along with having the chance to learn from four different IT teams during your rotations at UPMC, program participants have the opportunity to network with high-level executives, give back to the Pittsburgh community through service events, receive guidance from a personal advisor who is an IT leader, and build lasting connections within UPMC. Upon completion of the program, graduates are highly sought after for complex roles across the organization.

This role highly encourages candidates to be located in Pittsburgh to participate in the full scope of the ITR Program.

• Bachelor's degree required with undergraduate degree completion in or before January 2027
• Majoring in computer science, information systems, health information systems, or related field required
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred
• Preference will be given to candidates that have demonstrated leadership ability through their studies, employment, or extracurricular activities
• This role has in-person elements in Pittsburgh, PA and being located in the Pittsburgh area is required for this role.
• Demonstrated technical or healthcare project management abilities through school projects or university related extracurricular activities preferred
• Willingness to rotate job responsibilities every 6 months for a period of 2 years preferred
• Demonstrated interest through projects and activities in exploring multiple IT disciplines rather than pursuing a single technical specialty preferred.
• Preferred candidates will show a variety of differing experiences through their university projects, university extracurriculars, work experiences, and other opportunities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances (to be acquired after offer acceptance and before start date - we will provide instructions on how to obtain:

• Act 34
• Other clearances may be required dependent on rotation placement

Recruitment Timeline Expectations*

• Beginning of August- End of October (or until positions are filled:  Application Open
• September - October:  Video Interviews Conducted
• October - November: First and Second Round Interviews Conducted
• November - December:  Final Selections
